5. How we use personal information
Create, authenticate, maintain and support accounts.
Publish listings, display maps, match Drivers and Hosts, enable Bookings and provide directions and access information.
Process payments, payouts, refunds, chargebacks, fees, accounting and tax reporting.
Enable User communications, reviews and customer support.
Verify information, prevent fraud, protect Users and investigate incidents, abuse or violations.
Maintain, debug, analyze, personalize and improve the Service and develop features.
Send transactional, security and service notices; send marketing where permitted and honor opt-outs.
Comply with law, enforce agreements, establish or defend legal claims and respond to lawful requests.
Create aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be linked to an individual. We maintain de-identified information in de-identified form and do not attempt to re-identify it except to test our de-identification processes as permitted by law.
6. Legal bases for EEA and UK users
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
Contract: to create your account, provide listings and Bookings, communicate and process payments.
Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, analyze and improve the Service, prevent fraud, support Users and establish or defend claims, balanced against your rights.
Legal obligation: for tax, accounting, sanctions, law-enforcement and other mandatory requirements.
Consent: for optional cookies, precise device location, certain marketing and other processing where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
7. How we disclose personal information
We may disclose personal information to:
Other Users. A Driver receives listing, access and Host communication details needed for a Booking; a Host receives Driver, vehicle and Booking information needed to provide the space. Public listings and reviews are visible to other Users or visitors as indicated in the Service.
Service providers and contractors for cloud hosting, database, payments and payouts, identity verification, fraud prevention, maps and navigation, analytics, communications, customer support, security and professional advice. They may process information only for contracted purposes subject to applicable terms.
Advertising and measurement partners, if optional advertising technologies are enabled. Online identifiers, approximate location and internet or network activity may be made available for campaign measurement or cross-context behavioral advertising. Under California law, this may be “sharing.”
Authorities, courts and other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security, or establish or defend legal claims.
A buyer, investor, lender or successor in connection with a proposed or completed financing, reorganization, merger, acquisition, insolvency or asset transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and applicable law.
Others at your direction or with your consent.
8. Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies, SDKs and similar technologies for essential functions, preferences, analytics and, where enabled, advertising measurement. On our website, non-essential technologies are controlled through Cookie Preferences where consent is required. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time through Cookie Preferences. See our Cookie Policy for details.
We do not sell personal information for money. If optional advertising technologies such as the Meta Pixel are enabled, online identifiers and internet or network activity may be disclosed to advertising partners for measurement or advertising purposes. Under California law, such disclosure may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Our systems do not currently respond to legacy browser “Do Not Track” signals, which are not standardized. We do not currently claim that our website automatically processes Global Privacy Control signals. If Parqey becomes legally required to provide additional opt-out mechanisms or recognize browser-based opt-out preference signals, we will implement those mechanisms and update this Policy.
9. International transfers
Parqey is based in Sweden and uses providers that may process information in the United States, the EEA and other countries. Privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required for EEA or UK transfers, we use recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum or another lawful transfer mechanism, together with supplementary measures where appropriate.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, service-provider review, logging and incident response. No system is completely secure. You should use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account activity.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18 and an account may not be created by a person under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
12. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or know, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, and opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted advertising or automated decision-making. You may also manage location and notification permissions in device settings, marketing through unsubscribe controls, and cookies through Cookie Preferences.
To submit a request, email help@parqey.com or use available account or app privacy controls. Describe the right you want to exercise and the account email or phone number. We will verify requests by matching information to our records and may send a confirmation link or request limited additional information. We will not request more information than reasonably necessary. If we cannot verify a request, we will explain where permitted.
An authorized agent may submit a request for a California resident by emailing help@parqey.com and providing proof of authorization. We may also ask the resident to verify identity and confirm the authorization directly, unless the agent has a valid power of attorney. We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising a privacy right.
EEA and UK users may complain to their local supervisory authority. In Sweden, the authority is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), www.imy.se. We encourage you to contact us first so we can address the concern.
13. California Privacy Notice
This section supplements the rest of the Policy for California residents. It is intended to satisfy the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”), where the CCPA applies to Parqey. We may voluntarily honor the rights below even when a statutory threshold or exception means the CCPA does not apply.

13.3 Sale and sharing choices
Parqey does not sell personal information for money. Website visitors can prevent or disable optional advertising technologies through Cookie Preferences. You may change this choice at any time.
At the date of this Policy, Parqey does not believe that it meets the statutory thresholds that generally determine whether the CCPA applies to a business. Parqey therefore does not currently provide a separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link or claim that its systems automatically process Global Privacy Control signals.
If Parqey becomes subject to these requirements, we will provide the required opt-out mechanisms before engaging in covered sale or sharing. You may also contact help@parqey.com with questions or requests concerning the use of your personal information.
13.4 California request process
Submit requests as described in section 12. We generally acknowledge and respond within the time required by law. We may deny or limit a request where an exception applies, identity cannot be verified, or a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, and will explain where required. You may reply to our response if you believe we misunderstood your request or relevant information.
13.5 Financial incentives
Parqey does not currently offer a financial incentive or price or service difference in exchange for personal information. If that changes, we will provide the required notice and obtain any required opt-in consent.
14. Automated tools
We may use automated tools for search ranking, recommendations, fraud detection, security and moderation support. Human review may be used where appropriate. We do not currently use automated decision-making technology to make significant decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about a consumer. We will provide any required pre-use notice and rights before introducing covered uses.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, technology or our practices. We will post the revised Policy and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights or how we use information, we will provide additional notice or seek consent where required.
16. Contact
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, email help@parqey.com from the email address connected to your Parqey account. State whether your request concerns access, correction or deletion. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity. Please do not send identification documents unless requested.
